Clean and simple challenge: 150

Stamps: 'Just Believe (Stampin' Up)
Paper: Plain card stock in cream, chocolate brown and gold.  DSP fibrous green Japanese paper, and gold print origami square
Ink: VersaColour - Sand Beige(151) and Bamboo (69)

I really enjoyed this new clean & simple challenge!! I decided to go back to the colours that I love, greens, gold and beige/brown.

I started by inking the large grass/flower piece with sand beige and bamboo green (for warmth) along the lower section. I stamped this on plain cream paper. Next, I added the smaller leaf stamp to the left of the main image. I cut the cream paper down to size and framed it with a piece of gold paper.

Separately, I cut a wide strip of the patterned gold origami paper, and  stuck it over my base card. The final piece to prepare was the green fibrous strip which I carefully tore to expose the edge.

Time to assemble the card! I placed the stamped piece centrally on the base card, and finished with the fibrous strip.  I wasn't going to add a sentiment, but changed my mind at the last minute.   I chose 'just for you' from the 'Just Believe' set and stamped in bamboo.

More Water Colour!

The "Birthday Bakery" stamp set (thank you Monica!) was a great excuse to start water colouring again! I stamped the image on plain white paper and then painted each of the little cakes.

If I plan to use water-colour then I specifically use water colour paper from a fine art store as it really absorbs the moisture better than regular paper.

I framed the stamped image on a piece of purple embossed paper.  Separately, I stamped my sentiment and mounted it on a matching piece of purple paper, then assembled the card. A simple card to make, but I really enjoy the colouring aspect.

Clean and simple challenge: 149

Stamps: 'Punch Bunch' (Stampin' Up)
Paper: Plain White card stock, blueberry origami paper
Ink: VersaColour - Atlantic (68)
Accessories: Buttons and ribbon in 'Ice Cream Parlour'
(Stampin' Up), adhesive foam square, 'Atyou Spica' clear glitter pen.

Another clean & simple challenge!!  I found this one a little tricky as it is not a style I would ever think of on my own, and the colours I ended up using are a huge departure from the earthy tones I am usually drawn to.

So, affter a lot of trial and error I decided to stick with a plain white card base.  I started by sticking four abutting rows of ribbon onto a strip of white paper, then trimmed to the width of my base card.  On another small piece of white paper, I stamped the 'welcome baby' stamp from the 'punch bunch collection' in 'Atlantic' blue, and then coloured over it with the clear glitter pen

I found some blueberry coloured origami paper in my paper box, and cut this to make the ribbon shape to run down the centre of the card.  In the same blueberry colour, I cut out a backing for my stamped image.  I then arranged the pieces over the white card base (using a foam square under the stamped image) and finished by adding three coloured buttons.
